Nepal 17 – 24 Apr 2017

After visiting Bhutan, 5 of our Bhutan group tour continuing the trip to Nepal. It was only an hour fly from Paro to Kathmandu. Kathmandu, contrary  to Paro in Bhutan, is very much polluted by road dust and vehicles, everyone must wear a mask walking in Kathmandu main street as a result of the road expansion.

On the following day we left Kathmandu to Pokhara, a city on Phewa Lake, in central Nepal, known as a gateway to the Annapurna Circuit, a popular trail in Himalayas and Poon Hill sunrise. It takes only half an hour fly above mountaneous area of Himalayas.

Annapurna Ghorepani Poon Hill trek took us 10 hours trekking from the nearest village where we stayed overnight. The sunrise at the top of Poon Hill swiped away our yesterday exhausted 10 hours walk. The ice capped annapurna mountains created a golden showered by morning sunrise, really paid off our yesterday.

We, 9 vegans travelling to Bhutan, a country known for the happiest country in the world (based on GNH Gross National Happiness index), a carbon minus country due to its green environment, and a country purely adapting Buddhism’s ahimsa of no killing for animal and no fishing. Furthermore, smoking is also prohibited in the country. We were lucky be able to visit the country with final destination, climbing up to Tiger Nest, a monestry legendary created by superpower of Guru Padma Sambhawa. Some of the interesting photos are shared hereby
